Members Study Days 2022

There are a number of one-off informal study day site visits proposed this year, led by a knowledgeable CSG member very familiar with the property. These may include visits to Berkeley castle, Donnington, Winchester, Dover, Castle Rising, Pevensey and Conisbrough.

Berkeley Castle - May 19th

The first study day will be at Berkeley Castle in May 2022. From 10.00-10.30 until 15.30/1600. The confirmed date is May 19th, when the castle is closed to regular visitors. Members will be sent study notes in advance, and numbers will be limited to 30. Apart from some family rooms, all areas of the castle will be available to view. Members must book in advance.

Attendees will be expected to travel to the site independently and pay the usual entrance fees if applicable (Berkeley will be free). Each visit will be strictly limited to no more than 15-30 members. Please email the Journal editor and indicate expressions of interest as soon as possible. Apart from Berkeley, no other dates have yet been penciled in.

Zoom Webinars

To keep in touch with all our members, the committee has set up a monthly, or regular Zoom presentation on a castle-related subject. These are advertised direct by email to members. Any suitably qualified members that have a subject they would like to air through a Zoom presentation please get in touch with CSG Secretary Gillian Scott at: Secretary@castlestudiesgroup.org.uk.
